  • Party classic: Old Monk XXX rum. Mix it with Coke and lime.
  • For the gin crowd: Jaisalmer Indian Craft Gin.
  • Wine with curry: Sula Chenin Blanc. Off-dry wine handles spice well.

Where to buy beer and wine now

Ontario changed the rules in 2024. Licensed convenience stores, grocery stores and big-box stores can now sell beer, wine, cider and ready-to-drink cans. Spirits like whisky and rum are still sold only at the LCBO, LCBO Convenience Outlets and distillery stores. The Beer Store still takes back empties.

Looking for Indian beer like Kingfisher, Bira 91 or Taj Mahal? We could not confirm any of them on the LCBO or Beer Store websites in October 2026. Ask your local store, as stock comes and goes.

Hosting a big party?

For weddings and large events, you may need a Special Occasion Permit from the AGCO to serve alcohol. Your venue or caterer can usually help. Find an Indian caterer in our directory.
