We looked at Google ratings, thousands of reviews, and what people in local community groups actually recommend. We kept the list strictly to Indian sweet shops and spread it across the GTA, so there’s a great pick near you.

Diwali tip: pay for sweets, not the box
Most mithai is sold by weight, and the box shouldn’t count. A 30-second check:
- Ask staff to put the empty box on the scale and zero it (tare).
- Then add the sweets.
- Check the screen shows the weight of the sweets only.
Most good shops do this without being asked. If something feels off, you can report a food measurement concern to Measurement Canada.
